Meet Your Local Sparky

Mercury Electrical QLD is a residential electrician based on the Fraser Coast, looking after homes in Hervey Bay, Maryborough and Gympie. The business is run by Mitchell, a licensed electrician with more than seven years on the tools, and when you call, you get him.

We work on houses only. That means we know the jobs homeowners actually need done: an extra power point in the kitchen, a tired old switchboard swapped for a safe modern one, new lights and ceiling fans, or underground power run out to a new shed, granny flat or modular home.

Every job is quoted before we start, wired to Australian Standards and tested before we leave. If something isn’t right, we’ll tell you straight and explain your options in plain English, with no jargon and no pressure.

You’ll spot the black and gold van with the winged helmet around the Fraser Coast. We answer the phone, turn up when we say we will, and leave the place as tidy as we found it.

If you need a reliable residential electrician on the Fraser Coast, Mitchell is ready to get stuck in.

Our Services

Underground cable trench and conduit running across the yard of a Queenslander home

Power to Sheds & Modular Homes

Building a shed, a granny flat or putting in a modular home? We run underground cabling from your main switchboard, fit a sub-board, and add the lights and power points you need, so it’s ready to use from day one and fully above board.

New sub-board with circuit breakers and a double power point on a shed wall

Switchboard Upgrades & Surge Protection

Old ceramic fuses and missing safety switches are a common find in older Fraser Coast homes. We upgrade switchboards with modern circuit breakers and RCD safety switches, and can add surge protection to help guard your TV, computers and appliances from power spikes.

Weatherproof double power point mounted on a brick wall

Power Points & Switches

Not enough outlets, or power boards piled up behind the TV? We add new power points inside and out, including USB outlets and weatherproof outdoor points, and replace worn or broken switches so everything works the way it should.

Lighting & Ceiling Fans

From LED downlights and pendant lights to outdoor wall lights and sensor lights, we install and upgrade lighting right through your home. We also fit new ceiling fans, or swap out the old wobbly ones, to keep things cool through a Queensland summer.

Split system air conditioner mounted high on a white wall

Split System Air Conditioning

We install split system air conditioners in bedrooms, living areas and granny flats, including the dedicated circuit, isolator and a sensible spot for the outdoor unit. Already bought a unit? We can install it, or help you choose the right size for the room.

Wall-mounted EV charger on a brick wall charging a car in a driveway

EV Charger Installation

Bought an electric vehicle? We install home EV chargers in your garage or carport, check your switchboard can handle the extra load, and run a dedicated circuit so you can charge overnight safely and much faster than a standard power point.

Smoke alarm fitted to a ceiling

Smoke Alarm Upgrades

Queensland law requires every home to have interconnected photoelectric smoke alarms by 1 January 2027. We install interconnected alarms in the right locations, so when one goes off they all go off, and your home meets the rules well before the deadline.

Fault Finding & Repairs

Safety switch keeps tripping? Power out to half the house, or a light that flickers no matter what you do? We track down the cause with proper testing, explain what we’ve found in plain English, and get it sorted so it doesn’t come back.

Not sure which one you need? Give us a ring and we’ll talk it through.

Our Process

Step 1: Get in Touch

Fill in the quote form or call Mitchell on 0401 587 947. Tell us what you need done, where you’re located and roughly when, so we can come prepared with the right gear and a realistic timeframe.

Step 2: Get Your Quote

Step 3: On the Tools

We turn up when we say we will, get stuck in, and keep you in the loop as we go. All work is done to Australian Standards and fully tested before we call it finished.

Step 4: Done and Dusted

We clean up, walk you through the finished job and hand over your certificate of testing and safety. Then all that’s left is to flick the switch and enjoy the result, with no mess left behind.
